Terms of Service

Welcome to MaskedTalk. MaskedTalk is operated by Tiki Studios (“MaskedTalk”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). These Terms of Service govern your use of the MaskedTalk application and related services. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using MaskedTalk, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 years of age or older to use MaskedTalk and must also satisfy any higher minimum age required by the laws applicable to you. Signup asks for your date of birth and rejects anyone under 18. The App Store listing carries a 17+ rating and the Google Play listing carries a PEGI 18 content rating; our own eligibility requirement is 18 either way. By creating an account, you represent that you meet it and that you have given us an accurate date of birth.

3. Your Account

• Provide accurate registration information and keep it current.
• Keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity that happens through your account.
• Do not create an account on behalf of someone else, sell or transfer your account, or create a new account to evade a suspension or ban.
• Tell us at support@maskedtalk.live if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Harass, bully, threaten, exploit, stalk, or intimidate another user.
• Post or share hate speech, discriminatory content, or slurs.
• Share sexual content involving minors, or any illegal content, including child exploitation material, illegal drugs, or weapons-related content prohibited by law.
• Send unsolicited sexual content, or sexual content to anyone who has not consented to receive it.
• Impersonate another person or entity.
• Spam, solicit, scam, or send unsolicited commercial messages, including romance scams and cryptocurrency or investment solicitations.
• Attempt to circumvent moderation, account, payment, rate-limiting, or safety systems, including by creating alternate accounts.
• Share another user’s real identity, contact details, or private information without their explicit consent.
• Scrape, reverse engineer, automate, or otherwise access the service other than through the app as provided.

5. Objectionable Content, Reporting and Blocking

MaskedTalk has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. To keep the service usable for everyone:

• Text and images are screened automatically for policy violations.
• Any user can be reported from inside the app — from their profile, from the chat with them, or from a story they posted.
• Any user can be blocked from inside the app. Blocking stops further contact immediately, and blocked users are listed under Settings so you can manage them.
• We review reports of objectionable content and act on them — by removing the content, restricting the account, or ejecting the user — within 24 hours of the report.

6. Moderation and Enforcement

Content shared through MaskedTalk may be reviewed through automated and manual processes. Content that violates our rules may be restricted or removed. Depending on severity, violations may result in a warning, a strike on your account, feature restrictions, a temporary freeze, suspension, or permanent termination. Serious violations can result in immediate permanent termination without a prior warning.

If you believe an enforcement decision was wrong — including one made automatically — you can appeal by writing to support@maskedtalk.live, and a person will review it.

7. Anonymous Identity

MaskedTalk provides anonymous identities for social interactions. Revealing another user’s real identity without consent is prohibited. If you deliberately sign out and sign back in, you are issued a new anonymous identity, and conversations tied to your previous identity are no longer linked to the new one.

A profile may remain anonymous to other users, but MaskedTalk records objective safety evidence such as IP address, device and app metadata, and account events. This data is not shown to other users and may be used to protect the service, investigate abuse, or respond to a valid legal request.

8. Premium Features and Virtual Items

MaskedTalk offers optional paid features, including subscriptions and one-time in-app purchases such as Plus benefits, spotlight boosts, story boosts, and priority messages. Where we offer other virtual items or virtual currency, the terms below apply to them as well.

• Billing: All purchases are processed by the platform store you bought through — the Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
• Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price until you cancel. Cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds: Refund requests are handled by the store under its own policy. Mandatory consumer withdrawal and refund rights under your local law are unaffected.
• Virtual items: Boosts, priority messages, and any other virtual item or virtual currency are a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use a feature of the app. They are not money, hold no cash value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and cannot be transferred or sold outside the app.
• Consumption: Consumable items are used up when spent and are not restored afterwards.
• Termination: Unused virtual items are forfeited if you delete your account or if we terminate it for a violation of these Terms.
• Changes: We may change prices, add or retire paid features, or adjust what a paid feature includes. Price changes to an active subscription are notified through the store before they take effect.

9. Your Content

You retain ownership of content you create. You grant MaskedTalk a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, transmit, display, moderate, and remove that content as needed to operate and protect the service. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for copies retained for the safety, legal, and retention reasons described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the content you submit and confirm you have the rights to share it.

10. Third-Party Services

MaskedTalk integrates optional third-party services, including Spotify. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them. You can disconnect an integration at any time in the app.

11. Suspension, Termination and Deletion

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, threaten users, or create material risk to the service. You may delete your account at any time from Settings > Account > Delete Account, or follow the process described on our Support page. Deletion is scheduled with a 30-day grace period during which you can cancel it by signing back in; after that the account and its content are removed, subject to the retention exceptions in our Privacy Policy.

12. Intellectual Property

The MaskedTalk application, website, software, designs, and branding are owned by Tiki Studios and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant permission to copy, reverse engineer, resell, or misuse our service or marks.

13. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

MaskedTalk is provided “as is” and “as available” to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that every user will behave appropriately, and we do not verify the identity of users. Meeting or interacting with people online carries risk; use your own judgement and do not share personal or financial information with people you do not know.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MaskedTalk is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including mandatory consumer rights.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without limiting mandatory consumer protection rights that apply to you in your country of residence, including the right to bring proceedings before your local courts where the law gives you that right.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. We will provide notice of material changes through the app, website, or email where appropriate, and update the date at the top of this page. Continued use after the effective date is governed by the updated Terms.
